UYA is co-administered by high school students employed as youth staff at our office. These youths assist in the planning and implementation of activities for other students with supervision from the adult staff. The youth director leads the youth team.     PROGRAMS AND SERVICES Our diverse programming provides an opportunity for our students to grow personally and academically.  Because we serve a dynamic population of students we strive to create programming that is challenging, interesting and fun! Our programming is purposeful and serves as a catalyst to: Encourage minority business ownership. Supply life-skills information. Provide work experience and career exposure through internship placements. Build mentor relationships for students with specific career goals with professionals working in those career fields. Services Urban Youth Action, Incorporated (UYA) is a youth education and development program. We emphasize the importance of education, employment readiness, and community service. Through a series of educational sessions, internship placements (work experience), and enrichment activities appropriate to the student's progression through the program, we do the following: Teach the essentials of the job search process. Help youth understand work ethic and employer expectations.  Inform students about the prospect of business ownership. Provide exposure to entrepreneurs. Tutoring and Homework Help SAT test preparation classes
